Resounding Fortune Shining Over Euro/China

| On July 25 1999, the 25th Session of the European
Overseas Chinese Friendship Association (Euro/China Annual
Meeting) successfully concluded in the seashore city in
Denmark. |
| The main theme of the annual
meeting was "The Direction of efforts of Overseas Chinese
Community in Europe to work together in approaching the
New Millenium". Apart from the special topics given by speakers
Mr. Jiao Ren He, Chairman of the Overseas Taiwanese Committee
and Mr. Wang Neng Zhang, Director of the Kuomintang's Marine
Labor Association, the meeting also invited Mr. Lee Jian
Jun, founder of the Human System Engineering Science and
professor of Chinese Taoist Institute as special honored
guest. Professor Lee gave a talk on "Expanding the Horizon
- A Look at the Wisdom of China and its relationship with
the Disposition of Europe". His talk was premised on traditional
Chinese culture and European geographical disposition. The
audience felt deeply that they have gained a great deal
from Professor Lee's presentation. |
| In his two hours speech, Professor Lee explained
how Human System Engineering Science could combine both
traditional philosophy and modern science, how it can reflect
on a timely and opportunistic moment to control the force
of nature. Through the process of harmonizing with nature,
Human System Engineering Science brings into being and strengthens
the desire of the coexistence of human and nature. In particular,
he analysed the theory of "change" and "static" application
of traditional metaphysics and geomancy in Europe. |
| Professor Lee said, "Traditional geomancy as it understands
Human System Engineering Science, is to use one's observations
through geographical structure and layout, to make use of
natural environment, to assess the areas of good vibrations,
in order to enable the creation of a living space that provides
a smoother environment, that avoids evil forces and attracts
good fortune, so that the good geographical vibrations that
are generated can act as an external force to assist human
being in enhancing health, wealth and progress. |
| Can overseas Chinese living in Europe make use of or rely
on traditional Chinese culture and metaphysics skills? The
reply is affirmative. Professor Lee said that whether the
overseas Chinese are new immigrants or descendants of previous
generations, these potent cultural forces run through their
blood and directly influence their expression of cultural
ability. Such force cannot be dismissed either intentionally
or inadvertently. Traditional Chinese culture is vast and
thorough, its source profound and remote, which has far
reaching consequence to support overseas Chinese to make
their way to the zenith and achieve pre-eminence. However,
to apply such culture in practice, one has to make modifications
to the changes on the basis of the right time and the right
place in order to draw out this underlying potent energy. |
| Only through "change" will one be able to
extract oneself from dogma. Only through "change" will one
be able to master and further develop the skills. "Change"
is meant for the adaptability of traditional Chinese metaphysics
and geomancy to the time, geographical and cultural differences
of the European Continent. "Static" refers to not changing
those optimum locations that could drive out evil influences
and draws in good fortune; or those dispositions that could
attract good vibrations. When one looks at the various major
cities in Europe, there are many locations and dispositions
that are similar to the layout of a traditional Chinese
chessboard. Many of these cities have their main street
as the centre while the roads from north to south run in
neat squares. The centre space therefore acts as the origin
of the force of life. Other cities were built by the water
side with their back to the mountains and their land facing
south. This makes the good subsurface vibrations move upwards
to the mountains and circulate above the sky of the cities.
In his speech, Professor Lee mentioned for the first time
the subject currently being studied by Human System Engineering
Science and that is the adaptation theory to different geographical
positions. |
| The Euro/China Association has been established for 25
years now. Starting from the time when it had a membership
of 49 to the present several hundreds, it has been through
a very long journey, condensing uncountable sweet and bitterness
of the past immigrants. Standing in the Function Room of
"Merlin Hotel", looking at the leaders of overseas Chinese
Community from different countries, Professor Lee sighed
and uttered these words : From a drop of water we can see
the basic inner beauty of the liquid. From the attitude,
spirit and the conversation of the leaders of the Chinese
community of different countries attending the meeting,
I can see a spirit promising vigorous progress and united
achievement. I have a deep sense of conviction that with
the arrival of the new millenium, all the sons and daughters
of Chinese descendants who are living in the various countries
in Europe will enjoy resounding fortune and greater achievements. |
